When did they start puting 6spds in the jeep wranglers? We brought home an 06 wrangler for the ol lady today and it has the 4 banger with the 6spd I used to have an 87 wrangler with the 4.2 six and a 5spd.

 

I think back in 2005 they started putting the 6 spd in...

All Jeepers I know that have the manual are happy with it. Sometimes they claim they forget the sixth, because they were used to a 5 speed...
It's not the Diesel Wrangler? That thing is awesome. Super torquey and a low Diesel sipper.

I wish, they dont have the diesel wranglers here. Ive been toying with the idea of putting a 4bt in my '98 but emisions would be a pita.

and yes in '05 they went to a 6 speed

I wish it was the diesel. Although I guess I shouldn't complain since the price was right, FREE The ol lady's cousin is in the military and got sent overseas agiain and said he would keep the insurance and plates up so she could drive it. He is supposed to be gone for 4 years. I'm happy to have another jeep. I sold my 87 for more than what I paid for it but I still miss it, the thing was fun.
