Me and my wife have been trying to sell some land to help our finacal problems since I loss my job in august 2009. this land was given to her and her brother by there dad. her dad hunted this land and pretty much wouldnt let us do anything up. Well 2 years ago he shows up and hands my wife back taxes owed for the past 6 years totaling $2,300.00. it was shortly after work started going bad my hours where cut, so we decided to sell the land no matter what he might say.Well the land was on the market for two years and we have found a buyer. After months of back and forth problems that kept delaying the sell we had finaly had gotten a date set to sign. Out of know where the Atterney said that 27 years ago when the land was sold the Wife of the previous owner did not sign a waiver so we had to find her and see if she would sign and if she had remarried get her new husban to sign. We found them they where willing to sign but said they want something out of this deal they wanted $2000 or they would not sign.I was madder the hell,this is rediculous they have no claim to this land but want us to pay them for something a lawyer forgot to have her do 27 years ago.In order to not lose my buyer I made a deal if they would sign would give them $1000. I did not have any other choice my bills are way behind my truck payment is late again they could cost me everything if the buyer walked because of them. Anger does not even describe how i feel. Well thanks for letting me vent...

 

That's dirty man... everyones out to make a buck anyway they can these days. even if it means at the expense of others. I hope you get everything worked out and everything makes a turn for the better! Good luck to ya!

Wow. That's really 'crappy'. How did your wife's dad pass it to her and her brother without this "woman from 27 years ago" (who must have had writer's cramp) 's permission?

 

Well thats what I wanted to know. The way this worked out was the two people that owned the land after the woman with (writer's cramp) bought the land just to hunt on. sure the land never had to be insured. The man that is buying it now is putting a cabin up there and the loan office wont insure it with out this woman signing the waiver. At 4pm today we are signing away this nightmare. Thanks for asking though.
