Default Thoughts on High Flow delivery Valve Holders.

so in thinking if going with a bigger set of injection lines, why not higher flowing delivery valve holders? can it be as simple as drilling out the spare set i have sitting here to the size i want? i'd use a drill press and a vice and be super accurate, well as accurate as a non trained machinist can be.

has anyone here done this or had any experience with this?

Sounds like just asking for trouble. DVs or bigger lines are going to draw out the injection sequence regardless. Not ideal for the street but if you need all the fuel you can get it might be the way to go.

well i heard, on the internet so take it with a grain of salt, that on the P-7100 pump there was a stock bosch delivery valve holder that had a 0.120" orfice that apparently came on some motor at one point in time. there are also other companies that offer them but want you old ones back for a CORE, so i assume that they drill those out to the 0.120" orfice. was just thinking since i do have a spare set sitting here before giving them away i might try and see what i can do, maybe wait till i get it all together and see if there is a difference on the dyno. don't take long at all to swap them out. and if they didn't work swap the old ones back in there.....

for a street truck oversized lines and holders are pointless. The drivabilty factor goes out the window. with a bigger holder and line the truck will idel poorly and will lose low end power.

When you swap to a bigger line it will flow more fuel ... at the cost of pressure, hence why low end power suffers along with idel. As the rack advances more fuel is pushed through the pump and the truck will smooth out. The bigger lines and holders are more for competition trucks that turn big rpm.

I'm sure you have looked at the stock DV holder, have seen the small hole in the top, and thought the small hole is a restriction. well you would be right ... but there is " button" the pops allowing the stock holders to flow tons of fuel.

Dave has the holders without the "button", for what most will be doing it is not needed, even if done they need to be enlarged via EDM, drill bits won't cut it.

My pump still has stock holders on it, where you talking about another Dave?

I should have tried them on the new pump before I got rid of them tho. Have you done any dyno testing on the stock holders vs the .093's? Is taking away the " shock wave" from the injectors closing the only up side to a bigger holder?

I'm having a bunch of stuff bench tested side by side, the "button" prevents pressure waves from returning to the injection pump, which is a benefit.
