Default Will driving with a seized turbine cause any damage?

My turbine thats right behind the intake piping is seized up (see my other thread). It's SOLID. Doesnt turn or move period. But I need to drive a 12hour round trip next saturday. Will this cause any issues besides the truck smoking a ton? Will it suck more fuel (or less since it isn't boosting)? Will anythign burn up or blow up?

Thanks
Matt

I don't think driving is a good idea ... a 12 hour trip is way out of the question.

If you do drive it it will suck WAY more fuel than normal, smoke a ton, and your EGT's will be through the roof.

i wouldnt drive it any where if i didnt have to? if you have to move the turck i would unhook the the boost line coming out of the turbo, the motor is having a hard time sucking air throgh a seized turbo

think about where the egts were before the turbo went out. Now take the air out of motor. I would not even drive 5 min with a turbo that is seized. If it does start to move you might not have a engine left...either way 12 hour drive you would be out of a engine, turbo, fuel wasted also pulled over for all the smoke.....NOT GOOD

pick up someones old stock charger takes 30 mins to change it , most performance shops has a pile of stock turbos , use the price quote forum here to locate one should be less than $350

You can use the price quote system to get sponsors attention. We don't suggest it as a habit but in this case it's somewhat of an emergency. You can also put a post in the wanted section to section to get to members.
