My friend has a 01 f-250, the truck is totally stock nothing has been changed. The truck has got to where it has no power when you tow somethin or without a load. it takes the turbo forever to spool up more than normal turbo lag. idk much about 7.3s so any help would be great.

 

Has he had it scanned for codes?

 

Im not sure he took it to a mechanic and he was suppose to have fixed the problem but he didnt. i no all the fluids and filters have been changed. ill find out about the codes and post somethin back up here.

 

does it have a boost leak?

 

Few questions...

Does he have any gauges?

Any smoke when trying to accelerate?

Any idle issues?

You say no mods... intake mods? Maybe a drop in K and N filter?

 

i know mine lost power and toke a while to spool when my turbo melted down and the shaft had about a half inch of play in it so i would check out the turbo

 

No there is no mods on the truck at all. i guess the first place to start is the turbo and go from there?

idk much bout the 7.3s i mainly stick with the 6.0s.
