Hey everybody! I got a great truck but am considering a tranny swap to help with commute and highway mileage. Would like to do a 5-speed. Love my 4-spd for the grunt, but would like to be able to cruise above 55. I've heard of the ZF 5-spd and would like to know if this is a factory set-up or what other suggestions do you have? Have also thought about an over-drive on the set-up to give me an 8-spd. Thanks for the help.

 

holy hell. even with the 5 speed, u have 4.56 gears. it still isnt gona go to fast.

5 speed with od unit maybe.

yes the 5 speeds were stock units in 87 to 93.5 IDI engines.
