Default Need a Diesel in Alaska

I am looking to buy a diesel to pull a 12,000# 5th wheel and need to know ones to stay away from in cold climates like Fairbanks AK. My wife and I are retired teachers so we can't buy a $50,000 truck.

welcome to diesel bombers and i dont know how to answer that because all of them are good and all of them have their problems [try to get my spelling and pronunciations correct being that your school teachers] you just need to check over whatever you decide on very well so you are not starting out with a problem in the beginning and read some of the threads in the potential diesel owners forum it will help you find the things to look for when buying

Thanks I have to use spell check just to get close. It seems the Ford 6.0 were poor designs or are they good if left stock?

I would stay away from the 6.0 I have had to many friends who have had nothing but problems with them. I have had 3 dodge diesels and love them, the 7.3 powerstroke is a great motor if you are looking for a ford.

ya the 7.3 is a good ford motor but you can't ever substitute it for a good cummins.
