Default Winch

Hello Everyone,

I have been looking at winches for my truck for about a month now and have came across a winch made by RECON. I was wanting to know if anyone has any experience with these winches or have heard anything about these winches. I am interested in purchasing the 17,500 lbs winch that RECON makes. For the price it seems like a great deal. I dont want to sacrifice dependability for price though. This winch is going on a 2004 Chevy Crew Cab Duramax 4x4. Any feed back would be appreciated. Thanks

I haven't heard anything about them just might want to double check mounts and what you are planning on mounting it to. Thats alot of winch but it is a good price. I have a warn 12000 and it has slide my reg cab dodge 4x4 and a 45hp 4x4 tractor chained to the bumper before it stalled it so I can't imagine a 17,500.

I Have one but I have not mounted it yet. Seems well made. Looks like a warn.
Funny thing is years ago I would only buy Warn or Ramsey .( 7 to date, Still have 3 of them) but at the price and seeing the big 2 being made in China now and the fact that I am no longer in the work force with the Big Money I thought I would try one out and check the advertised facts in real world conditions. Amp draw , pull, speed , etc.

i have had plenty of experiences with with winches being from the jeep world... bottom line is you get what you pay for...

i will never buy anything other then warn now... i have learned my lesson with cheap winches. you buy a winch for the worst possible scenario... and is that situation the cheap winch fails... then you are screwed.
