im thinking of buying the boost elbow for like $25-$30 but from the looks of it its just s fitting i could get at a hardware store does anyone know the dimensions on the aftermarket ones because if i can get it without having to ship and for cheaper i will ...thnx

Sorry to be late on this reply, missed this thread somehow.

The boost elbow's you buy have more to them then just being a brass 90* angle. They have a pinhole in them that opens and closes to relieve a small amount of pressure and that's how they fool the computer.

So no, it is more then just a simple fitting you can buy from the hardware store.

I was wondering the same thing though that it was just a 1/8" barbed 90 that is drilled and tapped with a allen screw to adjust the pressure to the wastegate thought that one might be able to build one by drilling and tapping the 90. Am I wrong in this understanding and is there more to it than that?

If you just simply drill a hole and tap it, then plug it up with a screw the hole either has a screw in it or doesn't, no way to adjust it. If you loosen the screw enough to let air past it's just gonna fall out cause your gonna be on the last thread or two.

Now mind you, I have never dissected on a these things to know the internal workings of them. The ones that come with most controllers are not adjustable, no screw just the hole.
