turbo upgrade?
hey guys i gotta question does anyone know the size of the factory turbo on a 6.7 and would it be an upgrade from my hx35 my dad is thinking of upgrading his and i figured if it was an upgrade for me why not take the free turbo

That BOMB is pretty tough to build...
even though the compressor & turbine are very similiar to the HE351W we're so familiar with from the 5.9L CR, and the relatively large (~20cm) exhaust housing closes down to less than 10cm for good spool-up and lower high-RPM drive pressure - the VGT actuator would need a stand-alone computer with a driver circuit capable of controlling the 3-phase brushless DC motor.
The water cooling plumbing is easy enough to install.
I'd advise your Dad to use the existing turbo as the secondary in a twinset - that way he keeps all of it's electronic advantages (such as exhaust braking & WG control) while adding CFM capacity for plenty of extra fuel... besides, primary air is cheaper!
