Got a '97 7.3L powerstroke, anyone got a good guesstimate on the cost of a rebuild?
Prefer low and high average.
Anyone had it done recently?

I imagine you are having someone else do it. Around here in Michigan, they were running about $3500 for a short block. I rebuilt mine about a year ago myself. I had about $1200 into parts. I've seen as low as $3000 and high as $5000. R&R on it says 19 hours on my Alldata program. It actually took me around 12 hours, give or take. Good luck!

 

Swap a 5.9 Cummins in it and never look back

 

If I remember right a overhaul kit from ford was around $900. We looked not to long ago but just ended up finding a running engine off cragislist for $750.
