So I bought a really clean 05 TDI Jetta for the wife. She loves it I love it great car paid a little more for it than I should have. Put almost 6000 miles on it since Sept. When we bought it. It has 26,264 miles on it. Went to Abilene today and everything felt fine got there and almost all the way home and the clutch pedal sticks to the floor about 100 yards from the house. Do the TDI's go through clutches? There is no resistance when I push the pedal and the pedal stays on the floor, slave cylinder maybe. It is dark and there is too much stuff in my shop to pull it in and look at it. Thanks guys I appreicate any help or addvice you can give me.

 

Haven't heard of the hydraulics going south on the Jetta's, but there has been a rash of problems with the dual mass flywheels on those cars. I took the plunge and replaced my clutch and flywheel with a Southbend unit as preventative maintenance on my '06 Jetta. I had the same problem on mine actually tunred out to be flywheel and clutch assembly. I lost the pedal like you said it just hang to the floor. Was not a cheap repair either.

Was the slave cylinder out of fluid, or was it the clutch??
