Default exhust brake problems??

ok, bought an 08 2500 less than a month ago. just over 2000 miles on it and when the exhaust brake kicks off, it makes this loud popping sound. it sounds to me like normal back pressure, but im just not sure if it is supposed to do this. it started soon after i put on the Banks intake...i know, i know, i ordered an S&B yesterday. just curious if anyone has any advice. thanks

Mine does the same thing. It sounds like it wastegates. I have talked to the dealershi[ about it already, they said it is not normal. They took it for a test drive and I got the same response I always get, could not duplicate.

mine was doing great..then around 49k mles it decided it was gonna turn gay..it works intermittently..then when it quits workin, its like it sticks to the closed position and is restricting air flow..truck smokes like hellll..never seen a 6.7 smoke so much, alot more than my 5.9 did with its mods...got the cleaner from dodge labeled "diesel turbocharger cleaner" just gotta get the fittngs to match up for the plug between the housings on top of the turbo, and the fitting with a piercing tap to go on the can as it is similar to what is on R-134a...truck has low power in low rpm range...anybody else seeing this problem?

Mine "pops" every now & then. I just figured it always did it & the only reason I didn't hear it before was the factory airbox had baffles in the tube & the S&B doesn't.

UPDATE....couldnt find the fittings, so i took my truck 2 another dealer...they hooked it up and checked it out...reflashed it with new software..that didnt help..they then checked the EGR Valve, as the computer was showing it to be good, the service advisor said it was actually hung open around 30%, causing the excessive smoke and loss of power, and that it wasnt creating enough back pressure on the intake side of the turbo to engage the exhaust brake..truck runs great now and is strong..maybe now ill do the EGR delete...they were pretty cool with the mods and said he wouldnt void my warranty. while i was waiting the service manager was tryin to sell me his superchip he has on his 6.7..haha...so all dealers aint ******** after all

So, i called around and found an answer that might help some people. the newest flash(es) should get rid of the *chug* involved with the exhaust brake. mine did it really really bad till i got rid of my DPF and then it quit. i think it has something to do with the vgt slide collar not dealing with the excessive backpressure dealt by the 80lb nox/dpf combo. I'd ask the dealer to download the newest flash if possible and see if it helps anyone with the problem

otherwise, death to DPF!!

like a barking, chugging noise. it sounds like a loud cough all most, or really bad backpressure
