Hello all new to the site, my question is: will vin 7 crankshaft replace the vin 6 my engine now has, when I look up my crank using the 2001 Dodge Ram 3500 it tells me vin should be 7 but it’s a 6 and original engine still in it, I have found a 7 crank ....so?

 

The difference if i remember right is the crank sensor wheel on the crank.
a Vin 7 works in a gen 6 but doesnt work the other way around.
