Hello everyone, although this is my first post here on db, I am not new to the message boards. I have been searching for two days with no luck. Here is my problem. The gear housing cover has 17 bolts that hold it in place. The gasket I bought only has 14 holes, and isn't even big enough to fit around the housing. I just figured they gave me the wrong one. Well according to the part numbers, its the right one. I've attached a couple pictures to show what I'm talking about. Any input would be helpful. I've been working on diesels for over 10 years now, and this one has me scratching my head. Yall have a good weekend.

 

It's the wrong year! Get it from the dealer if the parts store is to stupid! try an engine shop they know how to ask for the right one!

 

Putting in that front seal for a novice is impossible! Hint.... Put the cover in the sun and the seal in the freezer! Use a flat piece of wood and hammer blow in the center! Good luck!
