I know a 93 LP 6.5 diesel has a better lift pump. I want to go down to the bone yard and pull a LP. can i pull from any year 6.5 diesel? Can i pull from a 6.2? will a GM gas truck work?

 

Chevy gas burners have their fuel pumps in the tank not to mention they make higher fuel pressures than a 6.5 can handle.

 

I've heard of someone using a lift pump off a 6.2 on their 6.5

 

1993 is the year lift pump you want as they had the highest pressure available.

 

All 6.5 equipped trucks will have the same physical dimension frame mount electric lift pump and can be swapped in place of any other.

That said you are already aware that AC Delco: EP158(1993 model year Lift Pump)is the best factory replacement available.
