Default 1995 K2500 with 97 motor swap issues

Finally got my 95s motor swapped out and a 97 with 187k on it swapped in but now its got the weirdest issues and will only run if someone sprays ether in. ( my friend not me was doing it I told him not to but the truck did start). Only lights working in the dash are the battery light check gages light low coolant light and parking brake light. No glow plug light etc. only one turn signal stays lit when 4 ways are on, tail lights stay on even when they aren't turned on. interior light wont shut off. Had to take out a nunch of hack job wiring and put original stuff back in.truck has had the ignition switch done twice in the last year New starter cable and starter new battery cables. im sick and tired of dealing with it any ideas?

know of a diagram or anything that shows where the grounds should be because I thought I had them all, replaced a lot of them, new battery cables too.

There should be 3 main grounds fastened near the passenger side rear of the intake-factory location is on the water block off plate stud but sometimes they get moved to an intake stud-not ideal.

They are 1 single wire with a ring terminal and 2 wires that share a ring terminal-no harm in separating them into having their own ring terminal each as well as adding a ground from that location to the drivers side battery ground.

replaced those three grounds cleaned and replaced the engine to frame ground, cleaned all battery grounds. Replaced ECU still no change. Truck will turn over, Glow plug light comes on when I manually activate them, low coolant light, check gages, battery and parking brake light will come on but no check engine or service transmission light.

yes, I replaced a 20A fuse in the engine bay fuse box I think it was ecm but that was before I replaced the grounds. The rest are fine but one weird thing is that when I pull the 10 amp fuse for the gauges in the cab the engine light and transmission light light up. Im getting to the point of wanting to find another truck cause ive had a shop and a diesel mechanic look at it and no one can figure it out.
