Question Newbie NL needs Help

Have a '96 GMC/Chevy 6.5L Turbo Charged Motor Home.
Have noticed over the summer that I have a Starting Problem when engine is warm to hot.
Must use a mechanic because I am not physically able or familiar with diesel engines.
Besides, this one has SO many electronic governors, sensors and plug-ins, that I have No
Clue. I am currently traveling away from home and need to choose a mechanic/shop, but I think most I have contacted are less than knowledgeable. Talking to me about Starters, Ignition Switches and even batteries, when they Don't Listen to the sequence of events.

so, I am hoping that the people of DieselBombers can lend me some assistance.

Thanks in Advance!

These engines need a good set of batteries 750+ CCA(cold cranking amps)and a good starter to spin them fast enough to start.

That said hot start problems often come down to wear on the IP that is made worse if the lift pump is not operating.

Next time you try to hot start the engine try pouring water over the injection pump before starting and note what difference if any occurs?
If it starts just as though it were cold you have an answer-it needs an injection pump(IP).

There are a great many low quality IP rebuilders out there so research by price then by reputation-all the bad news hits the internet but much less of the good news so the fewer posts about a vendor the better they likely are?
