First Powerstroke, 94.5 F250, 142K miles. Well taken care of and in excellent condition. Bought this gem a week ago from an old friend who's had it for a long time.

I just installed a Diamond Eye turbo back exhaust. It sounds awesome by the way.

In doing my research on this modification, no matter which aftermarket exhaust your using, I've seen that we all have removed the stock insulated downpipe and fiddled with, in most cases have removed a bit, of the insulation on the firewall.

There is a lot of heat in that downpipe. So, now there is an uninsulated downpipe very close a lot of things.

Has anyone seen problems with this?

I'm looking for replies from the folks who've had their aftermarket downpipe in a while, 6 months or more.

Ive had mine out for two years. With a six pos chip. No heat related problems at all. I didnt remove any firewall insulation though. Just pushed firewall back with porta-power

Exactly how did you puch your firewall back with a power pak and is there any other option, I dio not have a power pak and I am about to change out my exhaust on my 95 F350 2 wheel drive manual trans with a diamond eye 4" kit? Thanks

 

You can do it with a long prybar. I used one of thse as well. You can pry off the back of the head. Just have to be careful where you put it and not to slip off and get into anything. The bigest thing uou need to pry is where the firewall is spot welded togather, there is a lil that needs pried or hammered down.

Had a down pipe in mine for about 70k+ miles and never had a single issue with it.

 

Does it help to purchase a 2 piece down pipe with a new exhaust kit? I am thinking about the 4" or 5" Diamond eye Turbo back kit but I am a little nervous after hearing all the horror stories about guys not being able to remove their stock, pancake style, down pipe and getting the new one installed. Any info getting iold one out would be helpful and appreciated. What do I remove to get out of my way? Thanks

 

I'm not sure anyone make a 1 piece downpipe but it they do do not buy it. The 2 piece is way easier to put in. The stock pipe can be a bitch to get out I don't remember what all we cut to get them out.
