Default Increase boost on a 92 f250 7.3 IDI

Hello! Iam new to diesels and wondering if i can get some incite on the truck i just bought. Its my first diesel. Anyways its a 92 7.3 IDI with an ATS Turbo on it. I feel like the truck isn't getting the boost it should. Wondering how you increase the amount of psi also heard something about adjusting the fuel in the fuel pump. Any help would be great thank you!

Just an FYI ... these engines dont like huge boost #'s .. typically around 10-12 psi is really safe and should be left alone ..

Messing with the fuel IP , You will need a Pyrometer in the Exhaust , PRE-turbo as you will need to monitor the exhaust temps so ya dont melt a piston or Kill the engine ..

If your not seeing these "boost" numbers , you can adjust or have the Wastegate adjusted by a proficent Diesel shop ... dont take it to a back yard mechanic .. dont wanna get it wrong ..

I push 20+ psi regularly. Maxed out fuel too. Been like that for years. Stock head gaskets too. Just plug the wastegate and crank up the fuel.

Well when it comes to others pocket books, i am not about to give anyone that kind of advise, knowing especially knowing that I poped a HG and im n/a .. just sayin ..

Know too manny people who have windowed a block, blown a HG, or melted a piston ETC ....

I will say 10-12 is good and safe but a pyro is needed .. unless ou like to pull your heads and or engine regularly ..
