Default Hard brake issues.

The brakes on my F350 are all basically new, all done at Les Schwabs. They work "ok" but certainly don't grab like I know they should. When I'm sitting at a stop light and have light pressure on the pedal, they will start to fade. If I'm say, coming off the freeway and apply the brakes, all is normal unless I pump them a couple of times and the pedal gets rock hard and there is hardly any braking going on. All of my heater and AC controls work fine. I'm leaning towards the vacuum pump as it's the factory one and I just rolled 265K on the clock. Has anyone had these issues and found out what the problem was? Any input is greatly appreciated and thanks in advance.

Have you checked that rubber grom that seals between the vacuum line and the brake booster? I had that problem until I replaced that with one from my bronco

No dortiz, I haven't checked anything on it as I didn't know there were any serviceable parts on it. I'll check that out today. Thanks. That would be an ideal situation. ha ha. Is it a gasket or an o'ring in there?
