i have a 2001 dodge cummins, it will shift 1-3 just fine but it wont shift out of third, if im driving 60 my rpms are t 2500 and a can feel the torque converter lock in but it still wont shift out if third... what could be my problem?

 

Could be manny things, tps not giving the right signal, whats your fluid look like ?

Can you scan your truck ?

 

Do a search for grounding the overdrive wire. That's how I got mine to work.

My fluid looks great, and I grounded my trans and it's still the same. Some people told me it could be my OD solenoid or my trans temp sensor, before I bought the truck the guy before me said he had some transmission work done to it, but I'm not sure what they did

 

You put it on a switch right? Yea that's the next step if the switch doesn't work assuming you grounded the right wire.

Wait I just grounded the whole transmission not the wire, where exactly are the wires located on the transmission?

 

And also I have no check engine lights on or anything like that

 

Well I figured it out, I guess the people that owned the truck before me put some type of programmer on it that had to splice into the TPS wire, well when they took it off they just cut the wire and didn't splice the two original back togeather. Well that was the problem
