looking for someone who can do fire rings, port and polish, guides, valves whatever needs done to heads. have called 17 machine shops in the area from phonebook, to word of mouth, to the internet. Everyone says they can do cummins but no one wants to touch a 6.0L. Live in 27298 but looking for anything in the piedmont/triad area. trying to set up a turn around time of about 4 days so shipping makes that difficult. If all goes well and work looks great, future work is the plan.

kinda feel like a jackass bc i didnt call them but i always thought they were kind of sell parts, install parts i did not know they did machine work. calling now.....

 

nope they don't do any machine work. they don't even fire ring their heads. just wondering, my customer is insisting on fire rings bc some 6.0L guru has told him that they are neccessary, aren't they going to be just like cummins fire rings and have to be replaced like every 30k? i really don't think this guy needs anything more than studs bc hes just sticking a tuner and exhaust and pulls a 5th wheel.

 

Well if he "has to have" fire rings then I can't help you. If he's not going to listen to you I'd ask him to find another shop.
