Beer battery issues

Greetings all,
Want to share something i learned the hard way about dual battery setup on my 93 f250;
it was intermittently not starting, no crank, nothing, but looked ok on the guages...replaced batteries, starter, etc,etc...finally, that positive cable that connects the 2 batteries together, fixed it....it was corroded inside and creating excess resistance to the charging circuit, keeping batteries from charging and causing all the problems to begin with....cost me about $50 for that damn cable, more like $350 getting to that point, so just in case anyone else runs into it and looks here, verify that cable on any dual battery setup.

"if it ain't smokin', it's broken"

Yes, This is typical, I no longer use heat shrink on batty cables for this exact reason, it just hides the corosion...

Instead, I use a protectant on the cables and posts.. works great
