Default 6.5 turbo diesel dead

I have a very problematic 1994 6.5 turbo diesel not starting, this truck has been a pain for a while now it was shutting down while driving so I replaced pmd the problem remained and slowly got worse now it doesn't run, there is no fuel at injectors , I replaced transfer pump and injection pump, and tried more than one pmd. I replaced pcm as per gm book, tried different eeprom, checked ground wire on back of block, the problem i have found with no solution is the signal to the pmd fades out after 2 or 3 pulses I checked it at the pcm and its exactly the same.

Were is the signal to the pcm supposed to come from?

Thanks,
Mike

Crankshaft sensor is where the signal originates I kinda had the same problems as you with the 94 I used to have being it's 20 years old it more than likely is the issue you are having it may or may not fall apart we will cross that road later if need be,Do not use BWD brand crankshaft sensor (CSS) A/C DELCO only for replacement after replacing mine in the 94 it was a different truck for sure

Thanks for the information,
I am pretty sure I used a BWD brand CSS. I will get an A/C Delco tomorrow and install it and try that.

What is the problem with the BWD brand ? not made to the proper specs ?

thanks,
Mike

Check also to see if the electronic noise filter is still in the optical sensor harness,if so remove it and get enough pieces of ferrite core from radio shack to have a piece on each of the OS harness wires to absorb the generated radio noise.

BWD CPS are often bad right out of the box-not certain of the actual problem.

It's best to use AC Delco for all electrical parts on these trucks.

Also AC Delco ONLY for OPS and google OPS relay mod and install.

Here is an update.
I installed an AC Delco CSS. Turned the key and it fired right up. Lets hope that is the end of my problems.
I will give the truck a good run and see how it goes.

Thanks for all the help !

Mike
