I recently replaced my lift pump with the crap O'reillys pump and noticed that my truck started blowing kind of dark grey smoke at an idle when I blipped the throttle. And wanted to know if any one else has had this issue. Also after only about a month of running that pump it's bad already just a heads up for people.

 

sounds like A LOW fuel pressure from the LP ... causing the injectors to dribble the fuel instead of having a nice even spray pattern .... happens frequently ..

 

Does anyone know of a good place to buy a lift pump from?

 

Given the newness of the lift pump do you think there is something further up the line is causing it like a clog in the in tank screen.

Sweetv8s10. I would guess straight from cummins that's were I plan on getting my next one.

 

I would make sure its a cardone reman .. i have not had manny issues with cardone's ... or buy a "New" one and take the hit .... cummins wants like 235 for a new pump here in Wa. ...
