I bought an 86 Isuzu trooper 4x4 5 speed with a 2.2l turbo diesel yesterday was hard to pass up for the price. It runs good shifts good 4x4 works. My only issue right now is that on full throttle it smokes quite a bit. I'm used to working on Cummins trucks and I can figure those out but these I'm scared to do much because I've read these turbos and engines can't take much. So is it normal for these little guys to smoke good under full throttle. It's a gut less turd but everyone says they have no power so not worried about that. I can feel the turbo sucking at idle but can't really hear it. I removed the muffler and but on a bigger air filter to help her breathe. The guy said the turbo has a new cartridge but I can't confirm. I can't really find directions to defuel it or sure if I should. I'm not looking for a power house just something cool and efficient to play offroad and haul the kids thanks
