Hey guys. So I'm looking for a 7.3 powerstroke. And I can't decide between the newer body style or the older body style 7.3. Is one of them better? I have a 94 turbo diesel idi. I love that style but I'm wanting the newer one.

So the question is, is one of them better than the other? Is one of them more reliable than the other? I know the 7.3 engine is the best out there but I'm just talking about everything but the engine.

Its personal preference, the newer ones might ride nicer and have more bolt on upgrades. I prefer the OBS

 

What Joe said the newer ones definitely ride a lot better and are much easier to mod. Especially if you are the plug and play type.

 

we owned 3 7.3's at the same time and traded the 95 in on a brand new truck earlier this year b/c it was starting to nickel and dime us. but it was a great truck overall and had 250k mostly trouble free miles with no major issues. new trans around 180k (manual), injectors around 220k, original rear.
