fifth gear gone. retainer still good.

fifth gear gone. retainer still good.
so i lost 5th gear getting on the inter state yesterday and when i pulled it apart today the nut and gear are still good. but the clutch to the 5th gear has all the splines broke out of it. are there aftermarket parts i can get and what dould have caused this.
