Maybe bleed the fuel filter housing out, if its starting then I don't think its the glow plugs. I think you're getting fuel to the injectors to begin with then there's air in the lines and that's what causing it to die.
I have a question, how long does it run before it dies. If it barely gets to start firing then won't start then probably the glowplugs, but if it goes to idle for a second or two and then dies, try bleeding the fuel filter housing to get any air out of there.
Also have you done any work on it recently? Just any at all on the motor, this could help us understand the problem better.
Good Luck

Do you have your PMD relocated? I know mine on the extension, one of the wires broke and I did a half-@$$ splicing job on it and had those symptoms. It finally failed completely and I took my time and spliced it better and no problems since.
If you get it started, it probably not the glow plugs, once fired up, it take some really, really cold weather to kill it, (-40 F) or so where the diesel is just that cold, but I know mine will keep flickering the glow plugs on and off if its cold, even after the start.

Mine been relocated outside on the bumper I thought about that and move it into the engine compartment but still the same. Yesterday the dealer said it was the IP but it started fine and ran fine for twenty mins then I cut it off and it won't start for three hour until whatever is getting hot cooled. Do you think me optical sensor is bad and acts up after it's hot.

Hi all thanks for all your help so far, I went out today and the truck fired right up ran for 30 minutes then died in traffic. I unplugged the optical sensor and cranked until it started up my question is how far can I go in limp mode and will it hurt anything. Can this be cleaned or do I have to replace it?
