ok im working on a 97 f350 7.3 turbo drove it in shut it off came back the next turnsover but will not run so i have done the preliminary checks fuses and such put a new fuel pump and cam sensor still wont run ive been reading alot here about the hpop and the icm checked the oil pump through the plug oil level looks good fuel pressure at the schrader valve is at 45 psi.so i called a local dealer and asked a few questions and it seems to be pointing at the icm is there a way to test this before spending that kinda of money to replace it? thanks for any info i get.

Easiest way I know to check an IDM (I think that's what you mean) without a good diagnostic tool is to swap one with a known working one from a buddy's truck. Any 7.3 powerstroke IDM will work.
