Default New Member - 03 Duramax Question

Did some searches but still dont feel comfortable. Im thinking about buying a 03 Dmax 4x4 with 135,000 miles. Seems to run awesome from the test drives. Ive read about the injector problems. And transfer case pumping rubbing, etc. This will be my first diesel truck. I have a 1500 silverado right now that I LOVE. I pull a few trailers and would like to have 4 wheel drive. My question is - Do I just get the VIN and go to the dealer and they look up any recalls? I really dont want to get it then run into expensive problems down the road. Ive only done minor work to my 1500 (starter, brakes, battery). Thanks in advance!

Only wants $9000. Would the dealership replace them no charge? Guess I need to go to the dealer and find out. Thanks

No the dealer wont replace the injectors for free anymore, that warranty period has run out, it was 7 years or 200k miles from when the truck was built, so even the 04's are out of warranty anymore

it can get pricy to replace the injectors for be warned, however if you run a vin check and they have been replaced after about 07 they will be the improved ones that are less prone to cracking
