You think Veg Oil isn't viable

Hey guys, sorry I haven't been around to answer any of those questions, been a little busy preparing for Speed Week (we leave in less than three weeks and JUST found a head, lost a couple sponsors...etc).
Last year, the reason we topped out at 155 was we ended up breaking the record on our 3rd trip. It was the last "landspeed" event of the year, and it was held at El Mirage lakebed in SoCal, instead of on the salt flats. On the salt, there are usually a few courses, ranging in length from 3 to 5 miles (under power). At El Mirage, it's only a 1.3 mile course, and it's on dirt. It had rained the night before and we didn't get to run until later in the day when things were a bit tore up. Anyway about it, EGT's got a little warm before the one mile mark, so had to back out and coast for a bit. Saw the finish balloons and realized we were below the 150 mph mark (the minimum for the next license) and floored through the finish at 155 with plenty left.
This year, our main goal is to best the petro diesel SCTA C/DT class record of 215.091, using pure vegetable oil as a fuel. We would also like to set the official veg oil record. Two years ago, before we even had a vehicle or any sponsors or even a space to work, we had petitioned the rule board to allow veg oil as a fuel. Just like from pretty much everyone else, the response was something along the lines of "why don't you come back when you're a little more serious". We got a lot of that. We decided that even if it was official, it would still be recognized to a wide enough audience, so we went ahead anyway. 6 days after the El Mirage meet was the season end rule board meeting where they discuss the happenings of the year and make the final vote on rule changes for the following year. They voted veg oil in as an official substitute for "event diesel"!!! So now anybody can head out and get recognition, our hope is that will bring a few more people into the fold.
Got lots of other info, feel free to ask away. Might be a little bit before I get around to answer anything, but feel free to post stuff up anywhere you see fit.
