Say I have a gallon of diesel ratio/oil should I use? What is the purpose of adding 2stroke oil to fuel? I have a 44 pump I here this will help it?

I m very new to diesels I'm 23 and just bought a 98 Cummins

2 stroke oil in the fuel? I've not heard of this before. What are the benefits? I've had my 7.3L for about a year now and have tried different additives and have never heard any of my friends mention the 2 stroke oil. I have used Diesel Kleen and LO a couple times. Have heard a lot of good things about AMSOIL but haven't tried it yet as we don't have any local dealers.

I put one ounce per gallon of Walmarts TCW3 ashless 2stroke oil in mine. I got the truck in January 2013 and started using this and you would be surprised and how it quieted down. I figured as much research as Moparman1973 had invested in this it was good enough for me.
