2004lb7, you're right the gas will cause vapor locks for sure. You could overcome this with more line pressure, however your CP3 probably won't like it very much and you could damage that. The white smoke is also from the gas. Just thinking about W85 makes me nervous. I would never add RUG to anything that ran through my diesel.

right now i am running something like W90 ie: 90% WMO 10% RUG 0% #2 diesel. i think i need just a touch more RUG as it seems a little heavy for the fuel filter, lower fuel Mpa during idle, otherwise runs fine. i think i might top it off with RUG when i get home today

Makes sense. Just remember we (you and I) have two very different fuel systems and it would be a lot harder for me to increase fuel pressure up to the point where it wouldn't vapor lock anymore, and not cause other problems due to the higher pressure. Just something to think about, not all diesels are the same.
I have a buddy running a WVO blend in his LB7 too... I warned him of issues with it, but at this point he's run enough through that even if he had to tear down and do 8 injectors, he'd still be money ahead, and after all that's what we're all trying to do, so in that regard he's somewhat of a "success." I bought my system back thousands of miles ago with the intention of not having to fix ANYTHING due to the fault of this system for at least 200k. Whether that happens or not will remain to be seen, but so far so good.
I gotta say I'm with NadirPoint on this, I'd add a gallon or two to each full tank, just to prevent issues. You end up saving the same amount in the long run. Actually you'd probably save more since fuel cost is only going up.
