Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) Multi-Fuel Conversion
Has anyone tried Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) Multi-Fuel Conversion in their Dodge Ram 5.9L Cummins? I'm interested to see what the gearheads think about this? Is it safe? Is it a good idea or not? Why? I'm thinking strickly multi-fuel only so I could always convert back to diesel only if samething changes with the price of CNG. Currently CNG is fairly cheap and I read that it would add about 100 - 125 horse power to the engine. Not sure how much foot pounds of torque, but I think the advantage of multi-fueal over 100% CNG conversion is that multi-fuel does not loose any power and 100% CNG does loose some power (I read 8 - 10 horses). Curious to read your thoughts. If your a certified Cummins tech I would like to know what you think. Even if you have practical experience please let me know. Thanks

This technology has been around for ages. Several companies are making EPA certified systems. The biggest problem with CNG is that you have to have a really expensive fuel tank and fuel lines. LPG systems are much cheaper to install and use a smaller fuel tank for the same amount of BTU's of fuel...
