Default Jeep Wrangler Diesel Mercedes OM617 Conversion WVO 2-Tank System

We are building this Jeep Wrangler to have a 2-Tank WVO system. We just got the tank fabricated for the diesel fuel. We decided to use stock fuel tank for WVO because of 19 gallon capacity. The new diesel fuel tank is designed to fit behind rear seat of Jeep without sacrificing all of our storage space. We will post more information on system components as we get them installed. Here are some pictures of the fuel tank.

Any thoughts of switching over between fuel tanks?
An electrical or a mechanical solution?

We use the Pollak 6 way electric valve on everything we have converted. It seems to hold up well and ensures you send fuel back to proper tank. I always buy on ebay for $78 dollars its the cheapest i have found. Keep it as close to Injection Pump as possible to lessen switch over time during shutdown.

Ahh, the Pollak valve, I like that design.
I read about issues with the valve system on UK websites when using anything else than diesel- can you confirm this, or did they solve this problem?

Make sure you use a lift pump right behind the tank and huge diameter PA fuel hoses. Suction kills a lot of IP's.
Any kind of coolant/fuel heat exchanger planned?

We have had no problems so far with 10K on one valve and 3K on another. We use the heat exchanger from ebay also. TVM taylor is the sellers name its the one with the VW heat exchanger and PH16 oil filter, also has a built in glow plug that is thermostatically controlled. Mine heats up to 120 degrees in 1-4 miles depending on temperature outside. I wont switch over any earlier on the temp guage which is inside on dash.

Those pollak valves work for a while, but they really aren't made for the heat and the plastic tends to get brittle and crack over time. Consider using a Hydraforce valve instead - it's a bit more industrial-quality.

Be careful with the glow plug heaters - they tend to scorch WVO and create carbon chunks in fuel - not good for the IP or injectors! Also - if they are on and the fuel isn't flowing, they can overheat and create big problems. They work - but you'll want to be careful when using them.

It's tough to beat a flat plate heat exchanger - I'm guessing that's what you are using. Looping the return on WVO via an extra valve is a great way to retain the heat.
