I'm hoping for more that that , I got 12,000 on my Rotella 15-40w non syn. , my analysis from both Cummins & Blackstone said I could go farther on the oil , with the TBN around 9 .
I changed to Asmoil that Chuck recommended 15-40w marine , at 4,200 mile , I put on put on the Dual By Pass from Amsoil , then took the picture of the dipstick after 100 miles of driving .

let me revise that, 9 months and still going strong. I have no intention of changing the oil if the OA comes back as good.

Ok, I know this is a little old, but my 5k miles plan didn't work out as planned Its gonna be 12k miles on the oil thus far, and I am going to order an oil analysis shortly for it. I will post numbers up when I get them.

I will probably be on the same plan. Got the new truck in Oct and already have 10,000 on it. That's 40k/year if my math is correct I just sent an OA yesterday with 7700 on the oil to make sure everything looks good in my new(used) truck. It has 67k now. If all looks well, I will probably change it out and see if I can go the year on it.

Just to throw in my .02 I use the Amsoil 15W-40 although whats in there now is a cocktail of 5W-30 & 15W-40 ..........don't ask it was an accident.

Anyway I use the AME 15W-40 and the EAO filter and go 15k miles and change. I do UOA and it always says go longer but.......with the severe service conditions that I put my truck through (towing 11k lbs almoat every weekend in a dusty environment to go racing) and at 15k I still get the Amsoil guarantee any longer than that and I am out of the oil guarantee provided me by Amsoil. I will be installing a Dual Bypass and at that time will go longer on my OCI.

I don't think you should do it !! WHY cause even if the oil don't break down, you are running dirty oil thur your engine !!

That's the whole reason for doing oil analysis when running these distances. Depending on what you are set up with for filtration, you can safely go quite a ways
