AMSOIL AME 15W40 (CI-4+) Heavy Duty Diesel and Marine: TBN 12.10
AMSOIL DEO 5W40 (CJ-4) Premium Diesel Oil: TBN 8.00
AMSOIL HDD 5W30 (CI-4+) Series 3000 Synthetic 5W-30 Heavy-Duty Diesel Oil: TBN 12.20
AMSOIL PCO Synthetic Blend 15W-40 (CI-4+) Heavy Duty Motor Oil: TBN 12.10

You can see how the new CJ-4 oils for 2007+ emissions with particulate exhaust filters are a compromise in oil TBN to help meet emissions. That's why if you don't have a particulate exhaust filter, you should try and run a CI-4+ oil rather than a CJ-4 oil. The TBN (Total Base Number) will drop as your oil ages and acidifies with use. It is basically a measure of the condition of the base stock in your oil.

I use the blue bottle and its TBN is 14.

Not sure what product you mean by "blue bottle" and the TBN numbers from AMSOIL are the specs they will meet or exceed, so having a lab report 14 is not improbable.

I get the 15W-40 with the blue label. It states a TBN of 14 right on the bottle.

DEO, AME, PCO, or HDD? That's interesting that it states 14 on the bottle, since I took those TBN numbers right from AMSOIL. Hmm....

AME. I wonder if during the reformulation for ULSD that it lowered the TBN. I bet I've still got the old stuff.
