One thing you left out of your post is that the fuel you buy is all ready winterized and that most likely has more to do with you not gelling up then the 2 cycle oil you add!

there's to many opinions out there for me on 2 stroke in a CR right now some i'm just sticking to regular old #2 or B5 from now on, until someone can provide evidence that 2 stroke is Ok to run in a CR I'll think about running it, but til then it's just gonna get fuel w/o addatives and it gets really cold here in MT -30ish sometimes but I have some PS911 just in case

This is the best I can do so far for 2-stroke evidence. If the europeans are doing it in new model Mercedes, that might say something.

2 stroke is usually good to -40

agreed, that is an interesting topic but most of their fuel also contains a mixture of biodiesel which has a higher rating of lubricity anyway, so is adding 2 stroke to that fuel the same as adding it to regular #2 or not?

Winter 07-08 I used 2 stroke and PS for the first half of cold weather. Then got rid of the PS and started using Howes Diesel Treat with the 2 stroke and never had a sputter all winter I would add some #1 if it was going to go below -10, never more than 25%). This year I stopped using the 2 stroke and have been relying on Howes by itself. I tried Amsoil cold flow improver with straight #2 when it got down to the low negative teens and I couldn't get over 1500 RPM until I put in some Howes and let it run for a half hour. Not bashing, Amsoil just didn't work for me. Now I have been using 25% #1 and howes with no problems. I'll have to go back to the straight #2 and Howe's with 2 stroke at next fill up to see if it works like last year.

how much do you put in to a tank and what about runnin it in a 7.3?

Dr. Evil 01-04-2010 03:25 PM

How big is your tank?

Id say throw a litre or two of 2 stroke in every fillup.

Welcome BTW :c: :c:
