cummins swap, NEED advice
So im getting a 12 valve next week, and am getting everything ready for this winter to do the swap. I was thinking about using the dodge transmission, and i was wondering if anyone has used it, and where or how they made the mounts for the trans if they did. Would this work using the Dodge transfer case with out having to get a dodge front axle (because i want to keep my truck 4x4) for the drive line to match up. Also since I'm doing all this myself I was wondering If there are any tricks, hints, and "easier" way to do some things.

Thanks, but I know about the flex-plate adapters and motor mounts. I was more wondering on where I could find some dodge transmission mounts to adapt on my frame. If I have to fab them up, if so where I could find the specs to do so. Also where or if anyone knows how to spline the dodge transmission into the ford t-case so I can use my 4x4 without putting a dodge front end in. My last question is about the power steering, A/C, and heater and what all has to be done for retro fit those. I couldnt find a manual on how to do this, If anyone knows I would appreciate it very much.

I called destroked and they said they only do ford transmissions... "NEVER" have done one with a dodge trans. I also talked to a desk jokey. I'll have to look around more and believe me I have been. It really looks like I have to fab em myself, oh well, but any ideas on the rest of the stuff?

decided im going to fork up the money and get a 06-07 cummins motor with the auto trans because of efi live. unless i can get a release date sooner, thats what im doing!!! its my baby and rather than buying a new truck im going to build what i want ... dash is all gettting new fiber glass with auto-meter gauges doing everything custom. yeah its going to cost money but still less than a new truck!!! anyone done a newer swap like this please let me know!!

I am sure you are aware of this but Ford uses a reverse rotation front axle where everyone else uses standard rotation. This means if even possible, if you choose to use the dodge tcase; it will have to be fully rotated.
If you use the Ford tcase, you'll need to find or make an adapter to mate to the dodge tranny.
I have a die hard cummins buddy, he claims it would only cost 8k or so to drop a cummins in, but I think that is just motor using ford drive train.
Good luck with your swap. I thought about doing it at one time but decided against it.

And $8k is NO WHERE near the money I need to make this happen. I can get a complete 12 valve delivered to my doorstep for $1500, flex plate adaptor $800, new drive lines $500 +/- $100-$200. Motor mounts $600, moving the trans back free (welder and some extra steel). Thats at $3,400 give or take a few hundred bucks. My 7.3L only has 162,*** miles on her and runs like a champ, worth at least $1,000. which brings me down to around $2,400. Now around $1,500-$2000 for miscellaneous stuff as perviously mentioned (ac/heater, ect, ect) I'm looking at under $5k. All the work will be done by myself and a few buddies. Plus I have free access to a wrecked 03 with motor and trans and all, might go that route. If not I can steal parts from it.
