hey i was wondering should i mount my pyrometer before or after the turbo and why thanks cody

You want it pre turbo because that will be the most accurate exhaust temps.

There is a great spot to drill and tap in the drivers side manifold. 3-Gauge Install Pictures

where did you get your pyro meter, and how much was it? ive been looking but they are expencive and im not really sure what brand to get or what wats the higest temp i should get.

I got mine on Ebay... Autometer ultralite. Paid 227 for pryo, trans and boost gauges.

that dosent seem like a bad price, the pyro alone i seen for like $130 to $150

Ya, they aren't cheap... That was the best deal I could find. The gauges don't look half bad. I would rather have Isspro's, but it was hard to beat the price of these.

I think there is a pic of mine in my album if you are interested in them.

You always want to be pre turbo. There is no reason to mount a pyro probe post turbo. With a post turbo pyro you will see temps anywhere from 100* to 600* LESS then a pre turbo. Your not watching EGT's to protect the turbo, your watching them to protect the pistons.

I would recomend not going cheap on gauges, buy them once and buy good quality gauges.

Of course I also want to see you with Isspro gauges in your truck...

CSIPSD, this is a semi off topic question to the post but, how benifitial is it to monitor all 16 of your gauges?
