I have a 02 7.3L F350 270,000 miles. I recently had to replace an injector and now when the truck starts it has a heavy burning oil smell in the exhaust. not much smoke. Once the truck is warm the exhaust smells more normal. Truck has good power.

Any ides on what this could be?

 

how many miles have you put on it? when changing the injectors you get a lot of oil in the cylinders.

 

about 270,000. I found that the one injector was not replaced with a new one. An old injector was used and it had a bad O ring. I went ahead and had all the O rings replaced. the smell is gone and the truck runs better.
