Oil normal or synthetic
Ok, question for everyone. I hear a lot of talk about the value of synthetic over standard oil. I also hear people swear by additives like lucas oil, oil stabilizer and so forth. Just wanting to hear everyone's thoughts. I myself haven't used anything other than standard oil and replacing the filters but I'm all for extending the life of my 7.3 so if I hear some good info it might sway my opinion just a bit. Floor is yours guys.... (and gals)
I have ran synthetic in my 7.3 but isn't worth it. You can go a little longer on oil changes but not long enough to justify the extra cost. The hpop is just to hard on the oil. If you want to run it scheaffers is by far the best synthetic oil out there.
I always ran rotella 1540 with motorcraft filters changed every 5k and no problems in my ford. My past two dodges when ive changed their oil its come out still see through not black!
