Default Can not get this thing started

Ok, if you saw my intro, Ive explained this truck does not belong to me nor have I ever owned a diesel before.

Im from the Chicago area and recently our temps have dipped into the 30's over night. The owners of the truck have done little to no maintenance on it, it sat all last winter and was not winterized.

This thing runs like absolute crap (when it actually starts) and I am looking for tips that may help it out a little beyond heading to a mechanic. It does have a block heater that has been plugged in over night.

Upon starting it this morning, it started smoothly, ran for about 20 seconds, died and now will not restart. Its currently about 60degrees out.

Please help. Thanks!

Sounds like a fuel filter, start simple.
