Default Have a few questions

Im new to the powerstroke world and had a couple of questions that maybe someone could help me answer. I just purchased a 1997 F350 powerstroke and am wondering what is the best intake for the truck and what is the best exhaust for the truck (including downpipe). Also it seems that the steering is very loose and there is alot of play in the steering wheel any tips about that would be much appreciated. Any other things that I should be aware of or any tips about the truck are also greatly appreciated. Thanks.

first off congrats on the 97 stroke. that is a truck I want to build someday. I dont know about the intake but you could always do the BHAF, aka pvc pipe with a filter attached to the end. The exhaust I have heard alot about would prolly be a mbrp kit. but check the vendors on here. They usually give members a pretty good deal.

As far as your steering goes Its a ford it wont ever be like a sports car. But you should start by having some one under the truck looking at all the steering components seeing what all has slack in it and start replacing parts but the main thing too look at is your ball joints my 97 was the same way and the balljoints made more difference than any other part.

Steering for most OBS trucks like ours seems to be sloppy, but you will get used to it, and personally the cheap route for an intake is the NAPA 6637 mod... just a big *** air filter with no box.. but personally I like the S&B Intake and got the MBRP Exhaust, and it sounds great and helps a lot, if you look at your stock downpipe, it is possibly the worst downpipe ever... so if your short on cash at least get a 3 in downpipe installed
