Thanks guys. I may add a couple more questions soon.

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

So... chips again. I was talking to someone who said they would sell me a chip with a 80 hp setting for $150. Are there single setting chips like this guy is talking about and who makes them? I cant get a hold of the guy for the next couple of days and would just like a bit of info.

What brand of chip is it? Its most likely generic if they are just throwing out HP numbers that will be completely innacurate. You wont gain 80hp with a generic tuned chip and stock everything else minus intake and exhaust, hell you probably wont even gain 80 with custom tuning and youll gain maybe 20 with that generic tuner you are talking to a guy about, you just hit your limits with the injectors in this truck and everything

Look into custom tunes, you can get just one tune if thats what you really want

No problem and thanks man I appreciate it!

The difference between a superchips and custom tunes is night and day, custom tunes are so much better all around, youll get the most out of all your stock parts and in the best way possible, definitely do yourself a favor and treat your truck to some custom tunes

Alright, sounds good. I just threw the turbo back on...fixed an oil leak on the pedistal. Replaced the water pump, U-joints in the front and wheel bearings. So..im not doing the best on cash. The wheel in the turbo had 2 fins that were bent in a little. I'm wondering if that is robbing my power, because she really doesnt want to get up and go. I am going to see if my white smoke of the first start of the day goes away with the fixed oil leak, and if not, I will probably have some questions on injectors.

HAHAHA that is without a doubt the best way possible to describe the edge evolution, you couldnt have said it any better. but like Matt P says seriusly do yourself a favor and get custome tunes because it will help your shifts alot better as well as getting evetthing out of the stock parts.

get a chip and set it on the lowest level and drive it some to see how it does then move up on the levels. or contact a diesel mechanic and ask them their opinion. i have a super chip for my 97 powerstroke but the programs were left in another truck and now i have to get my chip recoded so make sure the programs are in the chip if you buy a used one.

Get some gauges before adding anything further power wise... Pyro, Tranny and Boost. You really dont know whats going on without the pyro and boost gauges.

I would keep my eye out for a good used OBS turbo, or at least get your hands on a new compressor wheel.

More then likely your white smoke at start up is bad glow plugs or glow plug relay.
