1250 is what I'm told, after that the pistons start melting.

Couldn't tell you, the only thing a PSD and an IDI have in common is the oil filter.

They DO use the same filter? Which ones are supposed to be best?

I thought the oil filter for the psd was a little bit longer...i know they are the same thread and diameter. are the bell housings the same from one to the other?

They dont initially, but you can use a 7.3 PSD filter. They filter a little better since the oil has to run the injectors and they hold an extra quart of oil. I use Motorcraft filters, #FL1995.

It is a bit longer, but they fit the IDI's just fine. I think you are correct, the bellhousing pattern is the same as well.

Whats the deal with the adjustable pump on the side of the DB2 injection pump? Looks like a big accelerator pump on the drivers side.

ok so i read all these 4 pages... and will turning the fuel pump up work the same way on my 89 7.3 with a banks turbo? i mean the initial write up would work out the exact same? ive got a pyro gauge in the truck but the guy i bought it from didnt hook it up yet. the truck just seems to be really lagging off the line, and this is the only other way ive heard to get some more power out of it.
