If your in a climate that allows you to remove it then there is no harm in doing so. I don't here any good or bad either way on the removal though. I saw pictures on the web of the parts and it's clearly a larger and smoother opening without the grid but they never claim any improvement as far as I could tell. Also I'm guessing that you have already done the deletes?

Only for emissions?? I dont beleive thats right. Because if it was for emissions only when i start my truck the grid heater light would come on everytime i started it. It dont only when the temps are i would say 55 or below give or take. On cold mornings after the truck has warmed up and if it dont cool off it doesnt come on. (because its warm-- not cold) The grid heater from what i have seen takes place of glow plugs like the psd has. It is for cold starts in lower temps. It heats the air entering the intake and into the cylinders to help the start.
