i just bought an mp8 i was wondering if it would be a bad idea to put it on my bone stock truck? or if i need to put a chip on? anything will help

 

As long as you don't go much more above the lowest setting, you'll be ok. Any more, than your gonna need gauges (EGT, boost, transmission temp [if an auto]). I you decide to go hog wild, lift pump, transmission upgrades, and possibly a turbo.

 

I was gonna put a cheap programmer, any suggestions on a good one that will work with the mp8? Or any other mods you would suggest

I've heard a lot of people running a Smarty with the MP-8 haven't really heard anything bad about the two.

 

I wonder if the smarty jr would work good with it, trying to roll se coal but not screw up the tranny
